Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. used gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to detect the benzene co ntent of two adhesive samples. The results showed that for the same sample, the benzene co ntent data detected by these two methods were very different. The detection results of gas chromatography are susceptible to interference, and the respo nse value is low and the peak shape tailing is serious, which cannot be used for qualitative analysis, especially for samples with complex matrices, it is difficult to give accurate detection results. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) can not o nly separate the various substances in the sample, but also identify the species of each substance by mass spectrometry. Because of its high specificity and high sensitivity, GC-MS combined method is expected to become a universal method for the detection of benzene co ntent in adhesives.
